POP Email: How to Configure an Email Program or Mobile Device

How do I configure my email program or mobile device to use your POP Email service?

To configure an email program (e.g., Outlook, Mac Mail) or mobile device (e.g., iPhone, Blackberry) to use our POP Email service, please use the following settings.

Account Type/Protocol: Choose either POP3 or IMAP.
The main difference between POP3 and IMAP is that with IMAP, all the email messages stay on the server.  This setting is preferred if you're using multiple devices to check your email.

Incoming Mail Server: mail.example.com if you are using POP settings
mail.example.com if you are using IMAP settings
Substitute your domain name for example.com.

Incoming Port: 110 for POP, 143 for IMAP

Outgoing Mail Server: mail.example.com

Outgoing Port (SMTP): 25 or 587
Try 25 first.  If you encounter problems sending mail, enter the alternate port, 587.

Username: [full e-mail address]
Password: [password for e-mail account]
The username and password must be used for both the incoming and outgoing mail servers.

SMTP Authentication : This option must be enabled.  If prompted, select "password" as the authentication type.  Use the username and password above.

Secure Password Authentication (SPA): If available, this option must be disabled.

Encrypted Connection (SSL or TLS): If available, this option must be disabled.
NOTE: Some devices enable SSL by default.  This option must be disabled on both incoming and outgoing to correctly send and receive messages.
